1110 10:15-10:30
Interim Meeting of AASPN/303A
The advent of Mixed Reality (MR) technologies, comprising Augmented Reality (AR)and Virtual Reality (VR), is transforming pediatric neurosurgery by providing immersive and interactive 3D visualization capabilities. This review examines the current state of MR applications in pediatric neurosurgery. The review presents a detailed analysis of AR workflow, surgical applications, and associated outcomes, highlighting the benefits of MR in preoperative planning, intraoperative navigation, and postoperative assessment. The challenges, opportunities, and prospects of MR in pediatric neurosurgery are also discussed, including its impact on surgical outcomes, medical education, and patient care. By synthesizing technological advancements with clinical applications, this review provides a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted role of AR and VR in pediatric neurosurgical practice, encompassing innovative methods, applicable scenarios, datasets, and metrics. A comparative analysis of state-of-the-art methods is presented, considering input data differences.
