Xiaofei (Sophie) Zhou, MD is a neurosurgeon who subspecializes in neurocritical care and spinal surgery. Although not a Cleveland native, she has lived in Cleveland for the majority of her adult life and graduated from Case Western Reserve University with her BA, MD, residency and fellowships. She has completed both a neurocritical care fellowship as well as a spine fellowship. Her research interests range from blood pressure management in subarachnoid hemorrhages to utilization of virtual appointments to facilitate care for post-stroke patients to understanding healthcare disparities.

Penetrating trauma is not largely prevalent in the Taiwanese population but is an affliction that is seen in nearly 40,000 Americans annually. Our unfortunate expertise in this field therefore allow us some insight in the management and outcomes of these patients.
