• His contribution for development of neurosurgery in America he has started in 1973 to introduce the modern micro neurosurgical techniques in many American education programs.
• He has accepted to be director of Skull Base Surgery UCLA and started his own educational courses for postgraduate American neurosurgeons, with live surgeries and lectures hundreds of American neurosurgeons have received this educational program.
• For his activities he has been awarded from different American Universities and became honorary member of all neurosurgical Societies.
• Similar to America, his educational program has been extended to all European, Asian, Latin American and African countries.
• For all these activities around the world he has received many awards such as honorary professor ship and honorary doctor ship from 23 countries, and he became honorary citizen in 10 cities. Also, several hospitals, schools and streets has been named after him
• For his contribution for development of the modern neurosurgery and for his unlimited effort for his educational programs for Neurosurgeons worldwide, he has received the following exceptional medals, awards and honors from all countries.
• For his special contribution to Africa, he has been nominated from the WFNS in 2011 as Ambassador for Africa. He has started the unique project Africa100 to educate 100 Neurosurgeons in all African countries in which there have not been any access to neurosurgery. As Ambassador he has united all African countries in neurosurgery and created the continental African Association of Neurosurgical Societies (CAANS) which act now since 2013 as a representative Society of Neurosurgery. In recognition of his contribution to the African continent he has been nominated for lifetime as honorary President of CAANS.
• His major contribution for medicine was the introduction of micro neurosurgery in neurosurgery already in 1966 which was a turning point for modern neurosurgery.
• Also, with his untiring distribution of his own discoveries through all over the world, he additionally has created and inaugurated a new surgical field in medicine as interdisciplinary Skull Base Surgery. With this new specialty now worldwide, every year thousands of patients who had no chance of treatment in the past, could be saved.
• The World Federation, which is representing around 200 countries has created the Madjid Samii Medal of Honor to award every 2 years the most prominent Neurosurgeon for his lifetime contribution and achievement in Neurosurgery. With the creation of this Medal of Honor, the WFNS wanted to make a historical documentation for his more than half a century unique achievement in medicine of benefit on the human being.
