Dr. Walter C. Jean is the Chief of Neurological Surgery at Lehigh Valley Fleming Neuroscience Institute and Professor at the University of South Florida. A native of Hong Kong, Dr. Jean graduated from Princeton University and Cornell University Medical College. He was Residency Director at Georgetown University, and creator of the textbook “Skull Base Surgery: Strategies.” To promote international neurosurgical education, Dr. Jean co-founded “Global Brainsurgery Initiative” and created “Surgeons’ Log,” the webinar of the North American Skull Base Society. Active in publishing, Dr. Jean was the guest editor for the Operative Neurosurgery video series Technical Lessons, and the Neurosurgical Focus issue on Complications. Recognized as an pioneer in Virtual and Augmented Reality, Dr. Jean is a thought-leader in applying this technology in Neurosurgery.
