Summary:
Thirty-five years of experience as senior consultant Neurosurgeon, with expertise in the field of Micro-neurosurgery, Skull- Base and Vascular Surgery, Pituitary and Endoscopic surgery as part of minimally invasive intervention. Launched & directed the neurosurgery residency-training program, introduced and promoted complex skull-base approaches & minimally invasive neurosurgery in the region. Chaired the department of Neurosciences at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center for more than 10 years. Hold the academic position of full- Professor in Neurosurgery, college of Medicine @ Alfaisal University. Launched and directed the advanced Neurosciences clerkship for the past eight years. Served at different leadership positions. These include head section, deputy chair & director of residency training program and director of KFSH&RC skull-base and neurovascular program. Mentored a large number of residents who became leader in the field in their regional sites and positions. Nominated as President and honorary President of several societies or academies. Have major contribution & interest in teaching young generation of neurosurgeons worldwide. Launched a successful WFNS Neuroanatomy educational webinars and courses. Received national and international awards and recognitions for strong academic contribution that include a wealth of scientific publications, presentations with a distinct leading role as active member of several societies and organizations, WFNS committees and a member of the editorial board for several International Journals.
Social status: Married to Dr. Huda (obstetrician) and having 2 daughters (Faten & Nadia) both receiverd their Master degree in art & design from Parsons school of art and design “New School” in New York.
