Imbibing the new WHO 2021 classification in our neuro-oncology practices
1108 13:00-13:10
Neuro-oncology/305
World Health Organization (WHO) revolutionized the brain tumor classifications by integrating molecular features with histologic grading. This was based on better understanding of the pathophysiology and behaviour of some of the otherwise considered benign tumors. We looked into our series of patients operated after the adaptation of 2021 classification and reviewed if the management policy of the treating surgeon had changed for the tumor. There is a wide variation in the availability of resources within the nation and outside. Practice protocol based on regional differences should be advocated.

Pediatric AVM : defining role of radiosurgery
1109 15:35-15:50
Interim Meeting of AASPN/303A
Radiosurgery has now been there for more than 50 years. The role of radiosurgery in the management of Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) as primary modality or as an adjunct to embolization and surgery is also well established. However pediatric age group are challenging and the safety of radiosurgery is always a concern. We reviewed data of our AVMs. The outcome in the context of obliteration and radiation induced changes were studied. The radiation induced changes were looked into. Systematic approach to manage these changes and defining strategic dose planning in these patients will be discussed.
